Prometheus
I'm not usually a fan of prequels but this time I'll make an exception, but I suppose that's due to the fact that I haven't seen any of the other "Alien" movies, but this movie did a good job keeping you entertained and you only needed a little background information on the series to understand what's going on. But yes, this movie was great from start to finish, there really wasn't much I didn't like, the beginning was a little slow but it built up the suspense very well. Without spoiling anything their is definitely plenty of gore and violence, so if you're into that and good story telling then this is the movie for you.

Hardcore Pawn
Ah, where to start? Yet another gem from the brilliant network TruTV, in fact I think this may be the worst show on the entire network, those repo shows at least have a few likable characters, very few however, but Hardcore Pawn has none. This show to me is the prime example of today's reality tv, it's shallow entertainment, it's not thought provoking, it certainly isn't original and it uses deceptive editing to make you sit through commercials to see the rest of the show. Les Gold the owner of "American Jewelry and Loan" has made quite a good deal of money through his Pawnshop and his TV show, It's sad to know that you can become rich this easily, the show is so obviously staged that it is barely worth mentioning as long as you're over the age of 12 this should come as no surprise.
The acting is bad enough to make you cringe and the commercials only make it worse, I'm surprised they're still in business based off how they are shown treating their customers, real or not they're making more than a fair profit by swindling people out of fair deals with their merchandise, and then laughing about the amazing profit they make off of it. This shameless rip off of the show "Pawn stars" likes to brag that it's more realistic, I mean surely there are plenty of pawn shops that have visits from men dressed as horses and crazy cat ladies, this is truly the more realistic show, especially if you ignore all the clearly visible audio recording equipment strapped to the customers, I mean maybe Detroit folks are just into recording every word that comes out of their mouths.
But honestly, the last thing I want to see is another season of this trash, but it's inevitable, as long as this show still has plenty of idiots willing to dance for the camera for a moment of fame, as long as they have gullible folks to swindle and as long as that family of moronic, unbearable plagues on humanity exists, it will stay, and so will reality tv, god help us...

Rock of Ages
Rock of Ages, A movie based off a musical, I wasn't expecting much from this movie so i wasn't too surprised that it was terrible. I could have gotten the same experience from listening to the radio and reading a cliche love story, actually that would have been preferable considering the sub-par renditions of the 80's classics and the terrible acting (Minus Tom Cruise on both counts surprisingly enough), I was actually surprised Russell Brand couldn't add more appeal to this, I can't really blame the writing since many fans of the original play were disappointed in this movie rendition as well, On the positive side of things I thought Tom Cruise did a good job playing "Stacey Jaxx", Even if his singing was off and his acting a tad over the top it compared to the rest of the cast he was breath taking.
The characters were bland for the most part, the acting was bad, the singing was horrible (especially from Julianne Hough's character) and it was rarely funny, so I personally can't see any entertainment value in this movie, I regret spending the money for the ticket, please save your money and go see Prometheus or something.

The Worst Network on televison...
TruTV is a reality television network that has been airing terrible show after terrible show every since it;s change from "CourtTV" in 2007, the channel mainly features "reality" tv shows, which oddly enough can't be called that anymore, especially not here, not only is the staging blatant but they can't even manage to keep it entertaining.
Currently the network airs around 20 different shows, however I will use "different" quite loosely here, that's because many of their shows are exactly the same premise with only slight differences...For example:
Bear Swamp Recovery (canceled as of November), Lizard Lick Towing, Operation Repo and South Beach Tow...Yes, these are all repossession shows, complete with TruTV's staple: terrible acting, lack of realism and exaggerations...The shows feature a set of 4-6 characters, all of which are bland and annoying.
Not only that but they actually feature the majority of these "repossessions" ending in an assault by one or both parties, which is laughably ridiculous. Operation Repo is the worst in this department, and let's just say they're not exactly making staged aspect of the shows obvious, perhaps it will have a 2 second disclaimer run on the screen or something, but I've seen people on forums rant and rave about the show being "real", so clearly TruTV is intentionally tricking their viewers for higher ratings, and I haven't even hit the bottom of the barrel...
